Rose Wedding Cake and Cupcake Tower

Well, I survived baking for my first wedding job!  I had a great time planning for and creating a cupcake tower and rose cake for the bride and groom.  The couple was so sweet and the bride was very easy to work with.  Yay!

The couple's wedding colors were coral, mint green and ivory.  After looking at some ideas of what she liked, along with pictures of projects that I have done in the past, we made final decisions for their wedding “cake”.

The happy couple wanted a white cake with vanilla almond buttercream frosting.  They wanted the cake frosted in ivory with a coral ribbon border on the bottom.  To tie in the coral color from the ribbon on the cake, I frosted the cupcakes in coral roses and she selected mint cupcake liners, which brought all of their colors into it nicely.

Here is the final version of the tower.  I just wish that the cake had a prettier backdrop...

Here is a close up of the top tier of the cake.  They selected the topper and had it ready for me at the reception to place on the cake.

I was very happy with how the cupcakes turned out.  Frosting them in this rose style is pretty quick and they looked beautiful in their coral color.  I decided to bake the cupcakes in white liners and place them in the green polka dot liners (from Wilton) at the reception.  That way the green liners were their true color, and it actually makes cupcakes look a little fancier when they are displayed this way.

And here is the happy couple.  Congratulations Emma & Daniel!

Thank you for letting me be a part of your special day!
